RealTracks Artist Bio: Daniel Lapp

Daniel Lapp is a multi-talented professional musician who plays the fiddle, trumpet, and piano. He earned his BMus at the University of Victoria in trumpet, and in turn has decicated himself to passing on his musical knowledge to others. In 1994 he founded the "BC Fiddle Orchestra" program, and later the Victoria Fiddle Society, and the Daniel Lapp's House of Music Society. In 2012 he received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee "Service" Award and in 2013 he received the Canadian Folk Music Association "Innovator" Award for his contribution to Canada's fiddle culture.

Daniel has performed at festivals, events, and other venues his entire life, all around the world. One notable highlight was his performance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as the featured fiddler in the Opening Ceremonies. He also also recorded many albums in the folk, jazz, and electronic music genres.
