I thought it was about time I tried the BIAB VST3i plugin on Reaper. I'm using a RealTrack style (_STREET).

The "Send To Reaper" seems to do what I expect, but Drap and Drop is doing something quite odd. I've tried a few things, including RTFS.Most, but it seems consistently inconsistent as follows.

I generate the tracks in the plugin. The time it takes to do this varies and the generated tracks are sometimes vey full and sometimes quite sparse. I've often seleceted each track and done "generate entire track", which generally seems to give a full regeneration. However the oddities go further. If I use the Drag and Drop option to copy tracks to Reaper, sometimes it offers the options including "replace content" and sometimes it just pastes the track adding to the existing content. When it does this, it seems always(?) to paste a sparse content and always to paste a stereo track, despite the track itlsef being mono.

As so often I've spent too long on this already and not enough time practicing, so for the moment I'm just leaving that report as it is. If anyone wants to try replicating it.

I got the update in Decempber and this is the first time I've actually tried to use it for anything, partly as I'm so rarely in Windows, partly because I increasingly resent spending hours trying to find out why so many things behave oddly. BIAB is wearing me down.

It's does take a long time working it all out, it still has issues that need fixing but Adar needs to wait on the Delphi programmers to get time to modify BBW4.
If sections don't show it could be the reapeaks that are missing, there is an action "Peaks: Build any missing peaks"
there is also a script to batch create all the reapeaks so tracks load instantly.
If tracks say mono but come in as stereo that means the actual source is stereo.
If you have too many issues you have the Import SGU script for Reaper.

I'm presuming you mean the "Send To Reaper" options. In the modest work I've tried they seem to work OK and I'll likely try again when I've calmed down.

Part of my problem with all of the 'quirks' in BIAB is due to the effects of my depression, combined with my past engineering work where any such quirk demands attention with a view to a fix, so when I see one, I go into a mode where I try to prove, isolate, make repeatable and so on, with anything that looks like a bug. Unfortunately that tends to mean I do that more often than not, I get no work done on it, get angry and stressed, and don't get my music practice time. Add to that that half the time when I'm tracking one 'quirk' I find another; and another, and another...

I have to walk away for a while ... again.

I must mention that I do not know whether this is a BIAB plug-in problem, a Reaper problem, a feature, or some combination or permutation of those.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
