Hi BT Steve, Hearing the sound of that train, followed by the barking of the German shepherds and the screams of people, gives you some chills. You make a beautiful piece of music, with that choice of instruments. Really very good! You made a very impressive song, from a very dark era. I seem to remember posts on this issue. what i want to do is audition different styles on an existing song and then return to the song with the original style unchanged. is it possible? i find that when i return the song has loaded the style i auditioned and not the reverted to the original. i can always load the saved song as long as i make sure i've saved any other change before auditioning styles. the process seems different in 2024 - the stylepicker used to offer the choice of the demo or the chords of the song. also if my song is 140 bpm and the auditioned style is 150 - working from memory the song tempo changes - i think bt can't remember exactly. even after nearly thirty years of BIAB as I do my main work in RB my basic knowledge of BIAB is a bit shaky so simply, how do i audition different styles, choose demo or chords for the song and then revert to the song with the orignal style and tempo unchanged? help please!

I noticed the same kind of behaviour with the plugin. Biab Standalone seems to work normal. Not sure where exactly it comes from, but the plugin generates .wav files with size but without content in the folder \bb\plugin\saved tracks. Recently I had updates on my RME UFX windows audio driver, a Samplitude X8 and a Biab update including biab plugin update to version 6.1.8. I doubt that it has something to do with the RME driver or Samplitude, as the behaviour with Samplitude X7 is the same and it had been working in the past. Hi Roland, Thank you for your feedback. Actually I'm having the problem with the standalone version and my 'BB plugin\saved tracks' is empty. Anyway, your gear and software being similar to mine that could give a clue to the bug busters:)

Hi, Dewey. Excellent clever write, well sung, good backing track. I like what's happening in the song, and all the elements are there, but for some reason I'm not feeling it. Maybe it's the drums lacking punch? Or maybe I'm coming down with a cold, or it's just late.  Anyway, really nice work with this, as usual.

Hi, Laurent. Nice work - sounds nice, and a good write. There are some places which the phrasing is unnatural, but that doesn't really take much away from the song. On the other hand, SynthV pronounced "live" wrong... it should be l ih v, not l ay v. It's probably best to set the default pronunciation on that word, because it always seems to pop up in people' s songs. I enjoyes listening!

Hi, James. Sounds like you're signature chords, all right. However... I have trouble following them - it feels like the progression is going one direction, and then suddenly pivots to another. Some of the transitions are... bad, like at 1:51 where BiaB seems to just fade out one chord, and fade in another, like the tape was spliced. That happens a lot in the beginning of the song. It's usually not that bad when it only happens to one instrument, but when it happens to a couple, it really stands out. While it's pleasant to listen to, it feels to me that it's just not crafted enough. My ear wants to hear something more structured than just chords strung together, such as a melody. Without that, it lacks that feeling of journey that a good song takes me on. But that's just me and my expectations.

Did this start happening after installing an update patch? If so, you should try rolling back to the previous update. You can find out which build you have by going to Help > About Band-in-a-Box. If you just installed build 1111, then you should try installing 1109: download link for build 1109 Thank you for the suggestion Blake. I tried but got the same result. See my answer to PG above.

Melody maker, Sounds like a strange problem. Not one we’ve seen before. We will look into it. Most likely due to an upgrade of windows, band-in-a-box, audio driver or audio plugin. Double weird that you can fix it only if you view the log file, which just launches notepad with the text file name. to confirm, if you just dismiss that dialog without displaying the log file the problem is not fixed? Also, did you update biab at the time the problem appeared? Hi Peter, thank you for your interest in my problem. Yes, I confirm that if I dismiss the dialog and thus don't open the log file, Bb can only generate audio in MME mode. This is not random behavior, but reproducible every time. Switching to ASIO or WAS is possible and generates no errors, but no audio is produced. My audio drivers have not been received updates from the manufacturer recently (RME Fireface 800 which is multi-client and Steinberg UR12). I've also tried to isolate the problem by renaming the directories containing the plugins to prevent them from being loaded. I've tried downgrading to version 1109, but the same problem occurs. And my workaround does also the 'trick' then. Best regards
