I appreciate all of the technical advice and encouragement I have received here over the past two weeks on my recordings. Here's a song that hopefully incorporates some of these very helpful tip - less reverb, better EQ, etc. - all done in BIAB/RB.

Thanks for listening.

Bob

Cool... the voice and guitar are now in the same room! I felt like I was sitting in a coffee shop enjoying my favorite beverage while listening to a live performance a few feet away! Good job! The harmonica is a good fit for the dylanesque style that works so well for you.

My only suggestion this go-round is that the song would benefit from a B part that is different than the rest of the song. It is very common in folk songs to have a structure that doesn't vary much from verse to verse; but most songs benefit from introducing a changeup of one kind or another. The harmonica solo did that in a small way, but it still played over exactly the same chord progression as the the rest of the song. So Instead of using an AABA structure, you have an AAAAA structure

Unless the composer makes a concerted effort to introduce variabilty to the song by changing structure, instrumentation, chords, tempo, panning, effects, harmonies, key, etc, he runs the risk of having the song become redundant after the first verse.

Hi Bob....I really like the feel of this song and what it says. If you do decide to restructure to incorporate a "B" part as has been suggested, and you have to re-sing your vocal part I'd like to hear you duplicate the performance. Not just copy and paste but two vocal tracks as identical as you can make them. Why? Because you have that something we're always seeking in the studio and that's unique "voice quality". A lot of people can sing, but not many are blessed with uniqueness. You are. So much so that I'd like to hear even more of it.

Great effort. Keep up the good work.

here's an interesting article on song structure. I found it to be very helpful.

I agree with the many people who have observed that your voice has a unique and marketable quality.

Nice job. I'd like to vocal to be more upfront, but don't go by just me, I'm 1/2 deaf in both ears at the moment.

I agree as to the song needing more of a variation. I like the instrumental interlude a lot.

Peggy's Cove sure is one beautiful place, as is most of the province.
