Did anyone read up on it ? maybe there is another alternative ?

Deliver software on multiple platforms
JUCE is the most widely used framework for audio application and plug-in development. It is an open source C++ codebase that can be used to create standalone software on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, as well as VST, VST3, AU, AUv3, AAX and LV2 plug-ins.

JUCE allows developers to focus on the most valuable parts of their software by taking care of the differences between operating systems (both desktop and mobile) and plug-in formats. With JUCE’s library of digital audio processing (DSP) building blocks you can quickly prototype and release native applications and plug-ins with a consistent user experience across all supported platforms. Using JUCE also future-proofs your products against operating system and plug-in host updates.

Audio Software & Plug-in Compatibility
JUCE makes it easy to create both standalone audio applications or plug-ins that can be loaded inside digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Logic, Live, Pro Tools, FL Studio or Cubase. A single JUCE project can be used to create VST, VST3, AU, AUv3, AAX and LV2 plug-ins from the same source code, and also provides the functionality required to host these plug-in formats in your own software.

Companies Using JUCE

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

This is from the PLUGIN thread:

For JUCE I see there is "MediaFoundation VideoComponent for Windows"
https://forum.juce.com/t/mediafoundation-videocomponent-for-windows/59952

To get Reaper to now play the wma or m4a direct on windows, for source properties it shows "Video item properties":

Using Windows Media Foundation v2 decoder for audio

Encoded audio format: AAC

Using Windows Media Foundation v2 decoder for audio

Encoded audio format: WMAudioV8

So why not use m4a as the crossplatform compressed audio format for the PLUGIN to play direct ?
It can play both to be backward compatible and the main Biab should be able to decompress either wma or m4a, or play wma or m4a demos.
Mac will play aiff or wav as the uncompressed format.

If you can get crossplatform started with the JUCE PLUGIN and get the generate code into it then it can develop independently from the 6mths Win 6mths Mac development saga without all your eggs in the one Delphi basket, future proofing.
That and crossplatform content installers allowing users to use their Biab purchase on Win and/or Mac, with SGU working on both without having to wait 6mths for the new RealTracks SGU to work on Mac.

As I keep saying, if I as a non programmer can make Lua scripts in Reaper to generate tracks the same as Biab then surely a C++ programmer like Adar can do this ? he won't have to wait all the time for BBW4 programmers.
Things will be fixed and added a lot quicker.
The Plugin Standalone can become the new crossplatform Biab Lite, with features being added to it gradually without the bloat of the main Biab. Easy to learn, easy to use, EZBBvst.

These download instantly, there is no 6mths wait in between clicking download buttons

I get what you all are saying, and I support Musocity's suggestion that it could be good to bypass the bbw4.exe. Gordon, I think you are correct that Pascal was the programming language first used for BIAB, but I cannot offer support for that statement; it's just a long-ago memory. That made it a natural move to Delphi.

I always loved programming in Pascal - such an elegant language.

Also we must keep in mind that Object Pascal in Delphi RAD Studio is on another planet compared to the original Turbo Pascal.

It has continually been developed and enhanced. It really is a complex, sophisticated and extremely powerful language now, and is still under very active development.

My analysis was also the logical progression to Delphi from Pascal.

I cut my teeth mostly in assembler with a little of the original Basic, i.e., before it became Comal really, but with a catchy name for beginners. I went from there to K&R C, which was a sort of grown-up assembler with a sparse but well-structured syntax. Probably due to that, I found Pascal rather verbose and never really warmed to it. I mostly programmed embedded soft real-time, though, so I guess C was also the obvious for that ... most embedded microcontrollers have C/C++, not much else is assured on everything. With modern flavours of C/C++ defensive programming is fairly easy, but not baked-in.

for non-embedded I mostly use one of several scripting languages, depending on the context.
