No problem here. Remember it is looking into a very specific folder x:/bb/songs. I have a half dozen songs in there and they show up fine. YOu can change that folder to any location.
I have 1000's and 1000's right here... I wonder if you guys upgraded from a year prior to 2019? It was 2019 or 2018 which had a significant restructuring of the folders for BB. If you jumped to 2020 you may not have seen this new structuring till now?? There is actually a "folder cleanup" utility which you can run to perform this adjustment, but 2020 should have done that for you. I don't recall losing any files as a result of this change so they should all still be there, somewhere.
What Dan said. The only time I’ve seen this is when someone upgraded from earlier than the year before. The solution is to run the Cleanup routine, which reorganizes the /BB folders, considerably for the better.

I'm having the same problem. Went from 2018 ver to 2020. Had a chat with Chase and referred him to this topic. He didn't have any suggestions except to call back during earlier hours for the tech people to look into it. I did the clean up, no help, and I don't have several of the folders that MusicStudent showed in their post. Mainly the BIABsongs folder. And I did a "typical" locations install, nothing custom.
In the 2020 Band-in-a-Box SongPicker, there is a new “Open in Home” option.
If this is enabled, the SongPicker will always open in the home folder instead of the current folder when you press the default [Song] button to launch the SongPicker.
The "Home" folder location is set to bb\Songs in Band-in-a-Box 2020.
This is an empty folder where you can save your work going forward. Seeing as you haven't yet saved anything in this new 2020 folder, nothing is showing on the list.
You just need to click the "Change" button and choose a folder location where all your work was being saved in previous versions in order to load up the Song Picker list. The name and location of that folder will be different for every single user.
If you are looking for demos included with Band-in-a-Box, you could try a folder like bb\Demos\RealTracks-Demos. If you purchased a Fakebook from a third party, that Fakebook would have it's own folder on your computer. If you are the owner of a PG Music Songs and Lessons PAK - which would have come in an UltraPAK+ or Audiophile version of Band-in-a-Box, you can also select one of those sub folders to display in the Song Picker instead. (bb\Songs and Lessons ...)

I have UltraPAK (not UltraPAK+) so I assume that is why I don't have the library of PG Music Songs. I do have a c:/bb/Songs and Lessons folder which contains 11 sub folders containing primarily lessons but no large bank of popular songs.
Two Questions:
1. How many songs are in the PG Music Songs Library?
2. What is the best way for me to purchase these songs?
Thanks & Best Regards Nigel

To simplify Alyssas post, which was in response to our Email correspondence, simply change the scan folder to C:/bb (or where ever you installed Biab), It will find any song that was installed with your purchased version. I found over 4700 songs in my version.
Thanks for clarrification. Right I now understand that BIAB does not come with a library of BIAB Songs. No - it has a list of song titles that are displayed in the Style picker if you type in some title words at the top right hand corner of the Stylepicker window. I will contact Bob Notes Norton and buy some of his BIAB songs and styles [RESOLVED]

Here's another way to "skin the cat". I just opened up a File Explorer in Windows, selected "This PC" in the left-hand pane and typed this in the Search box in the top RH corner: *.?g?
That will find all the BIAB .sgu, .mgu etc. files (plus a few others you can ignore). Then I just copied and pasted them all to my new C:\bb\Songs folder. Yes, I'll have a bunch of duplicates on my harddrive, but they're small files, and this way I'll have them all in one place so the Song Picker can find them!!
