He's played behind or recorded with great gospel musicians, and country singers and musicians, including Marvin Rainwater, Tony Booth, Bill Monroe, Jay Dee Maness, Billy Grammer, Dwayne Friend (Mr. Gospel Guitar), The great piano player with the Gaithers Anthony Burger, and he's played on the worlds largest showboat in Nashville with Shotgun Red!
James has also recorded on 2 labels in Nashville and played at the Chet convention, as well as performed at some NAMM shows with Fred Kelly from the Fred Kelly Pick company.
