Master Solos Series Patches & Updates

About the updates

Make sure to select the correct destination folder when installing the updates. In the case of the Master Blues Piano Solos, this should be Band-in-a-Box folder, e.g. C:\bb.

These updates must be installed over top of a full working version of the program. They install the latest build, and include all fixes since the first release of the program.

Master Blues Piano Solos -- Build 78 Update (3 MB)

This will update the program to build 78 from any earlier build. The Master Blues Piano Solos is usually located in your Band-in-a-Box folder - select this as your destination folder (e.g. C:\bb)

Summary of changes for June 28 2017 (Build 78)

  • Program engine has been updated to Build 78.
  • Fixed: Stability improved for Windows 7 and higher operating systems
  • Fixed: Program would not launch on some computers in certain cases, such as if the input language was set to Japanese.

  • Program engine has been updated to Build 73.
  • Fixed: Windows 98/ME - Program sometimes crashed when exiting Help or Song Memo windows, or when printing.
  • Fixed: Bug in which the prior screen would sometimes be mistakenly drawn during the loop screen until the song was stopped and restarted.
  • Improved: Made changes that allow the bitmaps to be a full 1000 pixels wide at 1024x768 or higher.
  • Fixed: Miscellaneous typos in Help file, main screen, and main toolbar.
  • Improved: Fly-by help hints updated. For example, hint on notation button will say 'Notation/Video mode' if the current song happens to have a video.
  • Fixed: Scroll ahead was not working properly in some cases.

  • Program engine has been updated to Build 65.
  • Updated: Program has been rebuilt with a 32 bit engine. This improves overall program performance, especially under Windows 2000 and XP.
  • Improved: Problem when running program with directory paths greater than 79 characters.
  • Added: Two checkboxes in the general settings: "Allow Auto-Loading of Text Pages" and "Allow Auto-Scrolling of Text Pages".
  • Added: If a pop-up HTML window is currently displayed, and the user presses Ctrl-P, the print dialog will let the user print the file in the pop-up window.

Master Jazz Guitar Solos -- Build 78 Updates (2 MB)

This will update the program to build 78 from any earlier build.

Choose the appropriate update patch... There are 4 volumes of the Master Jazz Guitar Solos - if you have the "SuperPAK" then you have all 4.

By default, the program is installed into the following folders in the Program Files directory:

  • Jazz_Guitar_Solos_Vol_1
  • Jazz_Guitar_Solos_Vol_2
  • Jazz_Guitar_Solos_Vol_3
  • Jazz_Guitar_Solos_Vol_4
  • Jazz_Guitar_Solos_Vol_1-4 (if you have the SuperPAK)
